Contribute a finding

I have the game on PC and I'm willing to dig into the files

The rarest kind of help. Most open questions on the Technical Findings page can only be closed from the files.

  1. Publish the four cable mesh names of the center web (found via CodeX, names never posted).
  2. Scan every CTimeArchetypeDef with 5 or more active hours: only objects with 4 or fewer have been checked, so a longer-window web would have been missed.
  3. Dump the .ymap position of all ten timed objects; only the pentagram's coordinates have been quoted from a file.
  4. Search all cable packs for anything named like jklm_11_14_rds_me2 / me3: an me1 or me4 would be a missing clue.
  5. Export the Fort Wallace tower (.ydr) with Sollumz and check whether the two "birds" are modelled vertices or a UV accident.
  6. Diff update_1-4.rpf against levels_1.rpf for the three web packs to confirm nothing was patched later.

I have the game on PC but I prefer to find things the intended way

The archive's biggest gap is pictures. Every placeholder on the Investigation page is a screenshot nobody has taken yet.

  1. Take the missing screenshots: map pins for every item, Tally Marks 6 and 7, the triple pictogram, the W and NW pole carvings, each web at its hour, the center web at 01:00.
  2. Test the feather shooting order: shoot two feathers in one night, note which one resets the other, repeat the next night.
  3. Reproduce the clock freeze: ride the rails from the Cornwall spider pole toward the oil-field web and watch the in-game clock; record heading and where it resumes.
  4. Check each web in rain, fog and snow, and in Chapter 2 versus the epilogue.
  5. Note exact coordinates for every find (a trainer such as Rampage shows them; it does not change anything in the game).

I have the game but I'm on console

Console confirmations matter more than PC ones: a PC find could be a mod side-effect, a console find cannot.

  1. Confirm each web's hour on PlayStation and Xbox: visit at the listed time, screenshot with photo mode, note the hour on the pause screen.
  2. Replicate the clock freeze. It was first seen on Xbox Series X; nobody has reported it from PlayStation.
  3. Run the feather respawn test: shoot one, camp nearby, return the next night and record whether it hangs from the web or lies where it fell.
  4. Check the pentagram at 04:00-05:00 and the planks behind Outhouse 4 (shoot them for the LJ & SM marks).
  5. Try an old save from 2018-2019 to confirm the webs predate every patch.

I don't have the game but I want to contribute

You can still help. Every day there are dozens of new Reddit posts and YouTube videos about the mystery that go unnoticed. Upvote and comment on the ones that deserve more engagement. Many people ask questions nobody answers, often ones the community already knows the answer to: reply, or point them to a verifiable source.

  1. Trace claims to their first post: who found what, when, with the Reddit or Discord link. The Timeline page credits original finders, not the YouTubers who covered them.
  2. Fact-check this site against the megathread and the community timeline; send corrections through the form.
  3. Mine video transcripts: list every claim a video makes with a timestamp so others can verify it in-game.
